I am a researcher in the Curatorial department, working closely with conservation, with a specialism in audio/visual content.
My work requires me to work closely with information on interactions with the collections. It also supports (re)interpretation of the collections.

I need bigger/dual monitors so I can have the AV, notes/browser, and any captioning/BSL software up at the same time.
I also require noise-cancelling headphones, so that I can immerse myself in any sounds.
As I work with audio/visual media, I often use Speech-to-text software and/or Speech-to-BSL software (Signly), to add related media to my collections information entries.
I find it much easier to verbally record my observations, so use a mobile phone and audio recorder to capture my thoughts. The speech-to-text-software is vital for transferring these voice notes into text.
